CCA Alabama's First Heritage Lifetime Membership
Posted on December 25, 2019
CCA AL is excited to introduce the first ever Heritage Level Life Membership honoring Joseph “Joe” Sledge Norton III of Loxley, Alabama. Joe grew up following the footsteps of numerous outdoors men where many of life’s lessons were taught within the backdrop of the Mobile Tensaw Delta and surrounding areas. Joe was able to weather the various seasons and changes in life as he grew his passion of sporting in the mostly brackish water. Joe and his garden giveaways are a trademark of the boat ramps across the causeway where he has never met a stranger and always asks the daily fish count while offering a helping hand. In his early 30s in a small Negus boat in the bay, Joe started passing the life lessons to his children who remember life vest forts under the bow waiting for their corks to go under. Joe has an open-door policy on his boat, often sharing his passion for the search of delta trifecta with family, friends, work colleagues, and his grandchildren. Accordingly to Joe there is nothing in the world a fishing trip can’t cure where the possibilities of limit dances are endless, as a bad day of fishing beats a good day at work.
The membership was given as a gift by his family to show their appreciation for Joe's commitment to teaching friends, children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren a love of the outdoors and how to be great stewards of our natural resources. "Joe is a registered forester and is an avid sportsman who CCA AL is proud to have as its first CCA AL Heritage Member," said Blakeley Ellis, CCA AL Executive Director. CCA AL will be expanding its life membership program in 2020 and will be launching a new campaign with some exciting new promotions, so check back at the CCA AL website for more details about our new program.
